Dear parents/guardians,

It is with much sadness I write to inform you that Miss Judy Kaufman passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at the weekend.

Our condolences go to her long term partner Roland (Ro),her brother Stan and her close friends and other family members.

Miss Kaufman started teaching in 1973 and came to Prince Avenue in 1981. She was at our school for 34 years; 15 of them as Deputy Head.

Her teaching experience and knowledge was second to none, and many of our pupils and families will have benefitted from her time at our school.

Judy was thoroughly enjoying her retirement, supporting Ro with his work transporting groups of people on day trips and excursions; she was his “unofficial” tour guide. She remained in touch with the school and maintained friendships with many members of staff.

We have opened a book of condolences for staff, parents and pupils, past and present; please visit the school office if you would like to leave your own message in the book. We will present the book to her partner at some point during next half term.

With regards

Mr G Clement

Head Teacher
