Girls Football

Girls football team

Football club is on Mondays after school: 3.15 – 4.15.

By working together on drills, tactical discussions and small games, students can improve themselves as football players.

If you really impress, then you may even get the opportunity to represent the school.

Date Match
15th October 2018

On Monday, the Year 3/4 girls had a football match and they continued where the Year 5/6s finished off on Friday. They were comfortable winners against a spirited Thorpe Hall Side. Played over 3 periods, there was some great play, with good control, passes and shooting on show. The game finished with a well-deserved 9-0 victory. Well done to: Sofia S, Poppie D, Isla E, Charlotte W, Chloe B, Chloe M, Maddison G, Alyssia J, Ronnie-Rae T. Also a big thank you to Tiegan J (last year’s captain), who regularly turns  up to help with training and refereed her first competitive match under the watchful eye of Mr Clement.

  • Period 1 – Prince  Avenue 4-0 Thorpe Hall
  • Period 2 – Prince Avenue 3-0 Thorpe Hall
  • Period 4 – Prince Avenue 2-0 Thorpe Hall

Girls’ League Match

  • Girls’ Friendly Match (B Team)

    Prince Avenue 4 – Westborough Primary 0

    • Julie-Ann (2), Sarah, Own goal

Yesterday, over 15 girls took to the field in two competitive fixtures; both teams played extremely well and finished with well-deserved victories. The League match was their first league match of the season, so it puts them in a great position for after Christmas where they will play their remaining two matches. For many girls in the B fixture it was their first ever match and there were lots of Year 5 girls playing too, so to get a victory in the manner they did, was excellent. They all deserve a great rest over Christmas, and will be getting ready for training again in the new year, on Monday 7th January.
